Five-star Hotel Excelsior Dubrovnik has an enchanting view of the city by the bay. The terrace overlooks old church towers, red-tiled rooftops and handsome fortifications of the old town, which is a UNESCO Heritage Site.
A complete refurbishment of the 19th century hotel was given to Croatian architects and designers Studio Franić Šekoranja. Warm and natural colour tones were chosen to mirror the soft stone colouring of Dubrovnik’s rocky coastline. Elements of the magnificent hotel are mixed in with contemporary pops of colour, designer outdoor lighting and bespoke furniture selections.
The Abakus Piano Bar in the heart of the hotel looks out onto a terrace by the Adriatic Sea, where guests can lounge around throughout the day, and meet for dinner and drinks when the sun goes down. Tribù’s signature understated luxury outdoor furniture fits the scene perfectly. The comfortable Vis à Vis sofa to lay back on, teamed with unique Vis à Vis rocking chairs, Nomad ottomans and Drops side tables to complete the informal outdoor room
Along the terrace edge, architect Franić Šekoranja chose chic Tosca Armchairs in Linen, mixed with organic looking Branch bistro tables, perfect for taking in the romantic views of Dubrovnik.
Bringing out the aristocratic origins of the old hotel and updating them with beautifully balanced design accents was the theme throughout the hotel’s refurbishment. On the Abakus terrace, Tribù’s subtle and beautifully made outdoor furniture captures the mood of elegance, style and comfort.
